Tom Grant Named Concert Band Director

                   The Jackson Area Community Concert Band is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. M. Thomas Grant, II, as their new director. 

                    Tom is a well-known professional musician and a dedicated band director who has a true love and appreciation for music and music education.

                   Currently, Mr. Grant is the Director of Bands and Orchestra at the University School of Jackson and Adjunct Professor of Brass at Bethel College in McKenzie, Tenn.  He also serves on the Music Ministry staff at Englewood Baptist Church, where he is a worship leader, plays trumpet and coordinates the church orchestra.  He is a member of the Jackson Symphony and the Symphony's Brass Quintet, performing on trumpet.  Mr. Grant has served as conductor of both the Jackson Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Paris-Henry County Youth Orchestra.  He is a member of WTSBOA, where he serves on the Executive Board as the Senior  High Representative.   An active judge and brass program designer for drum corps and marching bands, Tom serves on local, regional, and state panels throughout the Central and Southeastern United States.

                  Tom resides in Jackson with his wife, Dr. Tammy Grant; and sons, Sam, age 15; and Michael, 11.
