Tom Grant conducts the Symphonic Winds. Mr. Grant is the Director of Bands and Orchestra at the University School of Jackson and Adjunct Professor of Brass at Bethel College in McKenzie, Tenn. He also serves on the Music Ministry staff at Englewood Baptist Church. He is the personnel manager and trumpet player for the Jackson Symphony. Mr. Grant has served as conductor of both the Jackson Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Paris-Henry County Youth Orchestra. He is a member of WTSBOA, where he serves on the Executive Board as the Senior High Representative. An active judge and brass program designer for drum corps and marching bands, Tom serves on local, regional, and state panels throughout the Central and Southeastern United States.

Matthew Boatwright conducts the Jackson Swing Orchestra. He studied music and received his B.M.M.E. at U.T. Martin. Mr. Boatwright is now the instrumental and general music teacher at Central High School in Bolivar, Tn. During his tenure at BCHS Mr. Boatwright has helped to establish both the jazz and gospel bands. In addition to teaching, Mr. Boatwright has also been an active performer in the Jackson area as both a bassist and saxophonist for 10 years. Mr. Boatwright is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Phi Mu Alpha, WTSBOA, MENC, and HCEA. As a director and musician, Mr. Boatwright strives to enhance the musical experience for each person involved whether they are performing or listening.
